In 2006 an expert group on Mental Health was established which published a report entitled ‘A vision for Change’. This report was adopted in full as Government Policy and makes it clear that Psychotherapy has an important role to play within primary care.
Primary Care Centres are for families and individuals situated in their own locality offering a one-stop medical and mental health care facility. Primary Care Psychotherapy (PCP) is located in Vista Primary Care in Naas Co Kildare. PCP is a privately managed service offering a wide range of therapeutic skills through a team of professional independent practitioners.
PCP offers evidence-based psychotherapy to adults, couples, adolescents, children and parents. Psychological therapy is provided. All PCP psychotherapists & psychologists are accredited and trained to the highest standards in Europe (IAHIP, ICP, ECP, PSI). All are educated to Post Graduate level with specialized skill sets. PCP therapists meet the standards of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and the Psychological Society of Ireland. Clinical Supervision is provided for students and qualified therapists.
