Biosynthesis Somatic Approach to Relational Trauma October 2020

Borderline Trauma is most famously associated with difficult and unstable relationships. People with borderline personality disorder (BPD) tend to have major difficulties with relationships, especially with those closest to them. Their wild mood swings, angry outbursts, chronic abandonment fears, and impulsive and irrational behaviours can leave therapists & clients feeling helpless, abused, and off balance. Hyperarousal & catastrophic anxieties point to a chronic dysregulation of the nervous system alongside inadequate boundary formation.

Dr. David Boadella (founder of Biosynthesis Somatic Psychotherapy) is an International Expert in the field of Human Trauma and Mental Health Recovery & brought a new paradigm into Body Psychotherapy, ten years before Trauma was recognised by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, emphasising the importance of contact in the here and now, to provide enough containment for traumatised clients to give boundaries to the over-flooding feelings. Bisoynthesis Somatic Psychotherapy grounded in a synthesis of current psycho-biological understanding is well placed to help these clients build somatic borders through the discovery & encouragement of self-regulation impulses as a support to post traumatic health. In this workshop you will learn somatic therapeutic interventions which encourages post traumatic growth for the Borderline client by using narrative & differentiation techniques.

This workshop is for the experienced therapist and recent graduate and you are welcome to bring relevant case material from your current clinical practice to grow and learn from.

Biosynthesis Somatic Psychotherapy has been scientifically recognised by the European Association for Psychotherapy since 1998.
