Aisling holds an Honours Masters Degree in Art Therapy from Crawford College of Art and Design. She is a council member for the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists. Her experience as a therapist includes working within the HSE mental health service, in schools, organisations and private practice. She has worked with a variety of age groups from children to the elderly. In sessions Aisling provides the art as a tool to help people to connect to, express and understand themselves and their lives. Although the art created is considered in the session, the focus is on each person’s process.
As a therapist, Aisling is person focused putting what she hears the person express and their needs at the center of the therapeutic experience. In the past, she has worked with people to help them connect with their thoughts and feelings enabling awareness of themselves and their lives. From this awareness, change can grow. Some of the changes Aisling has helped people to make are grounding their experiences to reality, shifting perception, releasing sadness, hurt, pain and trauma, and building relationships.
Aisling provides a safe, confidential non-judgemental space to process. No prior art experience necessary. Session duration is 50 minutes.
