Biography

In 1999, in the aftermath of some extraordinary life-changing events I undertook experiential person-centered, integrative and humanistic psychotherapy training with the Irish Gestalt Centre.   I have never stopped learning about processing my own experience. This gives rise to humans feeling more and more freedom within. I love how we can learn creative ways to get our needs met in the environment more efficiently. Now I feel more vitality in myself and in my relationships. I have much experience assisting personal growth in adult and adolescent individuals and couples in relationship. I specialise in preventing depression while in recovery from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This might have arisen as a result of experiences of terror, a sudden loss, of near death, miscarriage, RTA or any life-changing event and generally it can be treated by processing in a trusting relationship. My clients' experiences can be described as being listened to by someone with a non- judgemental presence. The use of art therapy and body awarenesses are sometimes useful also.
