We provide a comprehensive range of general and specialised therapeutic services to our clients in a modern facility, in a professional, supportive and ethical manner. Prior to this we have been serving clients in Naas since 2005 as the Personal Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre. All Primary Care Psychotherapists and Psychologists have full professional qualifications, extensive training and clinical experience. They are accredited with the main relevant Counselling and Psychotherapy/Psychological Professional Associations in Ireland. These include the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Psychological Association for Ireland (PSI). Some are accredited internationally by the European Association for Psychotherapy and have been awarded the prestigious European Certificate for Psychotherapy (ECP). Many of our therapists have Post Graduate specialist qualifications. Examples, include Child and Adolescent Therapy, Addiction Counselling, Bereavement Counselling, Couple Therapy, Trauma Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), treating clients with depression and anxiety.

How to make a referral:

You can make a referral by phoning Primary Care Psychotherapy and speaking to our Centre Manager, Jennifer Timmins Rourke, who will deal immediately with your enquiry. Following this initial contact our manager will ensure that your patients’ needs are matched with the most suitable therapist.

Opportunity to consult:

G.P.s are invited to contact Primary Care Psychotherapy by phone or email prior to referral to discuss any potential client issues or concerns. This would help us to ensure we assign the client to the most suitable therapist. When an appointment for the client has been arranged we will forward you a letter from Primary Care Psychotherapy confirming the name of the therapist whom the client is attending. Once therapy has commenced there may be situations where liaison between the therapist and the G.P. would be beneficial to the client. The nature of this liaison would be discussed with the client either at assessment or during therapy, and upon client consent being granted this would be contracted between the therapist and the client. With the clients consent ongoing communication with the G.P. may be deemed necessary in order to optimize continuity of care. This may be especially important for example in the following cases: If the client has been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness. If there is a risk of self-harm or suicide. If the client is finding Psychotherapy unhelpful. Contact Primary Care Psychotherapy in confidence @ 045 896690 or email info@primarytherapy.ie to discuss making an appointment with one of our therapists.
